Performance Counts

Industrial Selling Skills was created to develop effective salespeople and sales teams that work in industrial and mining markets. In-house training for new salespeople typically focuses on product knowledge, application knowledge, and industry knowledge. Outside sales training programs are suited more toward consumer products like cell phones, insurance, or, in today’s market, technology sales over the telephone. Industrial selling is different.

Industrial Selling Skills was created specifically for companies that work with industrial and mining customers. The Sales 260 Course was designed to get your new sales representative equipped with everything he or she needs to get up and running quickly. Industrial Selling Skills focuses on winning new customers and selling additional products to existing customers, not "traveling customer service".

Industrial selling skills uses The Matchup Approach as the foundation for all training programs. The Matchup Approach, developed by Mike McFerren, makes it possible for us to incorporate our customer's products and services directly into our training.

Mike McFerren has been developing salespeople for over 25 years. He began his career in 1984 at FMC Corporation, a Fortune 200 multi-national company involved in equipment manufacturing, chemical production, mining. and defense systems. FMC manufactured products for mining, petroleum, bulk materials handling, food processing, package handling, and military markets.

Mike has served in nearly every role in sales and marketing including field sales, product manager, sales and marketing director, and Division Vice President with full P&L responsibility. He has over 30 years of experience working with manufacturers, industrial distributiors, equipment dealers, and contractors.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with majors in marketing and management. He has completed additional education at Columbia University and Texas A&M.
